Creations for Grandma & Grandpa

January 24th, 2011

Grandma & grandpa came for a visit right after the new year and we did some crafts while they were here to keep ourselves busy!  I also finished up a craft for mommies oven too!

Every year I do dish towels with handprints on them for the grandparents and then my mom (grandma) also likes to have pot holders each year to hang in her kitchen.  I admit and they know they are cheap & pretty easy crafts to do for Christmas or a birthday or Mothers day or Father’s day, etc.  I use the craft paint in the little bottles and find dish towels on sale through the year and even at the Target dollar spot and just pull them out when I need them.  I am going to just post a bunch of pictures of what we have done and give you a bunch of ideas.  There are SO many ways to do them.  Right now my 14 month old is not very fond of my painting his hands so we stick to the feet with him right now.  My 3 year old begs to do both the hands and feet so we mix it up with him a little bit.  You just have to find what works for your kids.

I do find that painting the hand or feet first works best instead of dipping the hand or foot in the paint.  You can spread it more evenly where it needs to be and doesn’t seem as messy to me.  Wipes take the paint right off the body and I just have to clean their nails later.
