Did you know that on average according to the USDA it cost 30.00 a week to feed a one year old! Now if a family of 4 were to eat out in just ONE meal they would spend around $30.00 to feed everyone for just ONE meal!
How many times do you eat out in one week? Think about how much money you could save by picking up something quick at the grocery store. Even if you got something from the deli it is still going to be cheaper than eating at a restaurant. I do have to say though that you can find some awesome deals on the dollar menus in a pinch.
I thought that this sheet was interesting that the USDA put out. I spend about the right amount for my family of four and I can’t imagine how much money we would spend if we did eat out all the time. It adds up quick.
If we do eat out it is for a special occasion and with gift cards we receive or we use cash. In a pinch we use a card but don’t do that often so it doesn’t become a habit! I know some people that eat out for every meal, I think that 75% of their pay check must go to just eating out. Think of all the things that you could do and get with that extra money, all the items you could pay off!!
The next time you are thinking about grabbing a quick bite out, stop, and think about all the money you could save by having a quick sandwich at home!!
