We recently moved and along with moving comes the job of supplying our own garbage can. We purchased one and were proud of our new garbage can. We weren’t using more than a couple weeks at most and the handle on it broke. You expect something that costs #20.00 to last a little bit longer than a couple of weeks. I didn’t think taking it back would be the answer since it was used (and smelled) and then I got to looking at the sticker that was still on the side of it.
It stated that it had a lifetime warranty on it. I know that that doesn’t cover everything and normal wear and tear but it was worth a try to see if we could get it replaced or get some money out of our damaged product.
I needed to send a copy of the receipt (got it) send a picture of the damage (got it) and write a short description of the damage (got it) I got my email together and enclosed all my personal info as requested and it wasn’t even 10 minutes later I got a reply back stating that they would be sending me a gift card for my local Lowe’s to get a replacement garbage can!! I was SO happy and was very impressed that they answered me so quickly.
SO it does pay to save those little receipts and keep track of warranties on items. It definitely came in handy for us and now we can get a replacement for our messed up garbage can.
