Nine years ago today I got asked a question that would forever change my life. I came home from work to find my boyfriend had surprised me by picking up dinner for us. Our first date was at Olive Garden so he picked up Olive Garden for us and had red roses on the table. You would think with all of these extra things I would have been immediately clued in to what was going to happen. Well you see we were to celebrate our one year dating anniversary on the 13th and it was the 8th. Shane my boyfriend lived in Florida and I lived in Georgia and he would travel seven hours on the weekends to see me a lot. I thought all the extra was to celebrate our dating anniversary since we would be apart on the 13th so I had no clue what he had in mind.
I don’t remember a lot of the details but I do remember talking about how thankful we were for each other and all the mushy stuff that goes with that. The next thing I know he is down on one knee and asked “will you marry me” I am sure there was an I love you in there and bunch of other stuff that my mommie brain can’t remember but you get the idea 
He then gave me a beautiful ring that I cherish.

He surprised me by asking me early and I do love surprises. I thought that he was going to wait until after he was able to meet my parents and part of my family. I am fine that he didn’t.
So “Nine Years Ago Today” my life was changed and a year later we were married!
So thankful for the man that God put in my life. Thankful that we now have two wonderful little boys too!
