Ally’s Meat Loaf Recipe

October 9th, 2012

Can’t remember where I initially found this recipe but I changed it up a little bit to what our family likes and it has been hit ever since.  It is easy and tastes good!

Just put in the oven & ready to cook

Ally’s Meat Loaf Recipe

2 eggs

3/4 cup milk

2/3 cup finely crushed saltines

1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef

salt/pepper (never salt ours)

TOPPING INGREDIENTS

1 cup ketchup

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon worcesteshire sauce

In bowl beat eggs, add milk, saltines, salt and pepper.  Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into 8 1/2 inch x 4 1/2 inch load in an ungreased shallow baking pan. I use an 8/8 baking dish and it works well.

Combine ketchup, brown sugar and worcesteshire sauce and spread about 3/4 cup over the meat loaf.  I usually use about half and save the rest to serve with it.

Bake at 350 degrees for 60-65 minutes or until no pink remains.  drain and let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.  Serve with remaining sauce. 6-8 servings
