Window Art For Kids

Gavin coloring cards on the window

Do you have trouble coming up with creative ideas for your kids to do?  I have a hard time coming up with new things.  I am not sure where I came up with this idea or where I got it from but we still like to do this window art.  I admit I don’t like to clean up messes and play with paint and in general just make messes with the boys.  This idea was wonderful when G was first learning to color.  He would get crayon everywhere.  On the window it didn’t matter all I had to do was clean it afterwards.

Simply just tape pictures or blank pieces of paper to the window and let them draw.  I would always put a blanket underneath where he was standing in case one fell and to keep the extra crayons on.  To this day if we color he always remembers to get a blanket to put down under him.

I love this too because a lot of times I will save them and send them to grandparents and also I use them for birthdays as a card from G.  He loved to make cards for people and who doesn’t love homemade artwork from a child?!

Is there a particular craft that you love to do with your child?  Do you have an old standby for a rainy day?  Do you have any that are not very messy?
